Atlas Exploration Projects

Atlas Exploration Inc.’s (AEI) activities in 2007 focused on the preliminary field assessment of the possible mineralized extensions or satellites of Lutopan Orebody, Carmen Orebody and Biga Mineral Resource outside the Carmen Copper Corporation (CCC) area but within Atlas owned/controlled mineral properties in Toledo Copper Complex (TCC) area, Western Cebu. Its original plan to drill the mine waste dumps during the year did not materialize because of the tight supply-demand situation for drilling services and the lack of appropriate Reverse Circulation (RC) drill rig in the local and international markets, which made it very difficult to get a reliable drilling contractor and equipment for the desired scope of work.

Proposed exploration projects with possible legal-related problems have been substituted with new prospects that  have potential for high-value metals like the molybdenum-bearing deposits in the Visayas and Mindanao and gold prospects in Mindanao.  AEI has also started discussions with a company for a possible Joint Venture (JV) exploration in determining the viability of recovering molybdenum as a by-product of copper from the Biga Mineral Resource (from which molybdenite concentrate was recovered in the late 70s) and possibly in the Carmen and Lutopan Orebodies.
